DATE OF EVENT Usually held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of each month.  Sometimes held on other days as well.  See our Main Calendar for exact dates.
TIME Normal hours are 9:00 PM to approximately 1:30 AM or later unless other times are listed on our Main Calendar .

Held at Ballroom Off Fifth Dance Studio, 37 West 37th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues), 2nd floor, midtown Manhattan, NYC, 10018.  Ring buzzer to get in.  Studio phone 212-532-6232.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE Very large newly renovated dance studio.
MUSIC Almost entirely pure classic salsa plus a little cha cha.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Very occasionally. They would be listed on our Main Calendar.
DJ Guest DJs to be announced.  See our Main Calendar.
BAND None
DANCE FLOOR One very large wooden dance floor which is "medium speed".
PRICES Reasonable.  Free admission one time with purchase of full VIP pass to the New York Salsa Congress .
BEVERAGES AND FOOD A selection of beverages are sold. such as sodas, sports drinks, water and Choco specials.
DRESS CODE Very casual, come as you are.

DANCE TIMING

Almost entirely "New York On 2" timing and style.

DESCRIPTION Presented by Choco of MamboFateegz, the guy behind all those On 2 t-shirts that you see everyone wearing.  Choco is also the organizer and director of the New York Salsa Congress.  His partner is Edwin Harrell of www.MamboFateegz.com.  This event is held in a large studio with a good  wooden dance floor which is "medium speed" and usually there is a good crowd so you will have plenty of partners to dance with at various levels.

Closest subways:  B, D, F, N, Q, R, V, W to 34th Street Herald Square Station.  A farther walk would be 1, 2, 3 trains & LIRR to 34th Street Penn Station.  There are buses on all nearby avenues:  Madison, 5th, 6th & 7th Avenues, and cross-town buses on 34th and 42nd Streets.
