LOCATION

The Santo Rico Studio at 2403 2nd Avenue in Manhattan is now closed.  They will be opening a new studio at a different location shortly.

Usually held at the Santo Rico Dance Studio, 2403 2nd Avenue (between 123rd and 124th Streets), 2nd Floor, Manhattan, NYC.  May be held at a different location for special events.  See our Main Calendar or flyer above for exact location if not at their studio.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE This is the regular bi-monthly party of the Santo Rico Dance Studio held in their large studio with professional sound system, seating and large dance space.
MUSIC Almost entirely pure classic salsa plus a little cha cha, bachata, merengue and English.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Usually there are dance performances.  If there are, they would be listed on our Main Calendar.
DJ DJ to be announced.  See our Main Calendar for DJ name(s).
BAND None.
DANCE FLOOR Large wooden dance studio floor that is "medium speed".
PRICES Very reasonable, typical for socials held in a dance studio.  Somewhat higher price for special events.
BEVERAGES AND FOOD Free Latin buffet for earlier arrivals until the food runs out.  Cash beverages available such as water, Snapple, sodas, etc.
DRESS CODE Casual.  Jeans and t-shirts OK.

DANCE TIMING

Entirely "New York On 2" timing and style.

DESCRIPTION The Santo Rico Dance Studio is world famous as one of the pioneers of the New York style On 2 mambo.  For more than a decade, the studio has stood for great dancing, excellent technique, classic style and complex rhythmic choreography.  Their Santo Rico Dancers team has performed and done workshops all over the world.

This event is their regular social, usually featuring 1 or 2 dance teams and, of course, lots of classic salsa music for your many hours of dancing.  There will be plenty of dance partners at all levels, from beginner to advanced, including several of New York and New Jersey's top instructors.  Santo Rico invites everyone to come and party with them.
 

HOW TO GET THERE

This party is held at the Santo Rico Dance Studio, 2403 2nd Avenue (between 123rd and 124th Streets), 2nd Floor, Manhattan, NYC.  Click Here For Map .  By train:  Take the 4, 5 or 6 trains to the 125th Street Station.  Then walk east on 125th Street a few blocks to 2nd Avenue.  Turn right and walk down 2nd Avenue 1 1/2 blocks to 2403 2nd Avenue on your right side.  The studio is on the 2nd floor.  There are also buses going up and down 1st, 2nd and 3rd Avenues, as well as the 125th Street cross-town bus.  By car, there is street parking nearby, though you may have to drive around a few minutes looking for a spot.
