DESCRIPTION The Lorenz Latin Dance Studio has been gradually creating an entertainment destination for people of diversified backgrounds and they accommodate dancers from all over for their weekly social.  Students and instructors from the studio are there at the social including some dancers from the wider mambo community.  Director Howie Lorenz and his wife Pat are friendly and welcoming of all the dancers who they invite for a night of fun and socializing.  And the dancers there are very friendly, open to new partners, wanting to practice their dancing.

HOW TO GET THERE This weekly studio salsa party is being held at the Lorenz Latin Dance Studio located at  65-52 Myrtle Avenue (near 65th Place), Glendale, Queens, NY, 11385.  Phone - 718-418-5484.  Email - Info@LorenzDanceStudio.comClick Here For Map

From Manhattan by public transportation:  Take the L train to the Myrtle / Wyckoff Avenues Station, then take the Q55 bus (outbound, east) for approximately 2 miles to the studio.

From Manhattan by car:  Take Williamsburg Bridge onto Broadway.  Turn left onto Myrtle Avenue and go to 65th Street.  You can also take the Brooklyn Bridge onto Flatbush Avenue, then turn left onto Myrtle Avenue and go to 65th Street.  Local street parking may be difficult but one solution is to park in the huge parking lot of the supermarket located at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and 65th Street/Cypress Hills Street.  The supermarket is open until midnight, so you are probably safe until then.  I have heard that in several years no one has ever gotten a ticket or towed for parking there but, of course, you do so at your own risk.

For more information on public transportation, click on NYC Subway-Bus-Train Maps , or NY-NJ PATH Train Maps or Long Island Railroad Maps or MetroNorth Railroad Maps .

OTHER INFORMATION Lorenz Latin Dance Studio is a school for salsa which also teaches other dances such as hustle and swing.  See their web site www.LorenzDanceStudio.com for complete schedule of classes.  They also have dance teams which perform at a variety of venues; click on Lorenz Dancers.
