DATES OF EVENTS These socials are held every Friday night at the Glendale, Queens, and Manhattan locations.  They are held every Saturday night at the Corona, Queens, and Bronx locations.  See our Main Calendar for exact dates and locations.
TIME Usually held 9:00 PM to 12:00 midnight.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUES An On 2 mambo social held in a neighborhood dance studio with a large size room and a good wooden floor.  The crowd ranges from 75 to 125+ dancers, depending on whether it's a regular social or a special event with several performances or other special attractions, and depending on whether there are many dancers from the wider mambo community.
 
MUSIC Entirely pure classic salsa plus a little cha cha, bachata & merengue, played from a pre-recorded program on a computer.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Occasionally.  They would be listed on our Main Calendar.
DJ Pre-programmed computerized playlist chosen  by Howie and Pat Lorenz.
BAND None.
DANCE FLOOR 1 large size wooden dance floor which is usually "medium speed", although it may get a bit more sticky when the place heats up with all the dancing. 
PRICES Reasonable and typical.
BEVERAGES AND FOOD Water & beverages are sold.
DRESS CODE Casual

Almost entirely "New York On 2" timing and style.

DESCRIPTION The Lorenz Latin Dance Studio has been gradually creating an entertainment destination for people of diversified backgrounds and they accommodate dancers from all over for their weekly social.  Students and instructors from the studio are there at the social including some dancers from the wider mambo community.  Director Howie Lorenz and his wife Pat are friendly and welcoming of all the dancers who they invite for a night of fun and socializing.  And the dancers there are very friendly, open to new partners, wanting to practice their dancing.
 
HOW TO GET THERE To Glendale, Queens, Location:  This weekly studio salsa party is being held at the Lorenz Latin Dance Studio located at  65-52 Myrtle Avenue (near 65th Place), Glendale, Queens, NY, 11385.  Phone - 718-418-5484.  Click Here For Map .  From Manhattan by public transportation:  Take the L train to the Myrtle / Wyckoff Avenues Station, then take the Q55 bus (outbound, east) for approximately 2 miles to the studio.

To Corona, Queens, Location:  This weekly Saturday party is held at Lorenz Latin Dance Studio, 105-02 Northern Boulevard, Corona, Queens, NY.  Studio phone 718-779-5969.  Click Here For Map of Corona Location.  Closest train is the #7 Local to 103rd Street - Corona Plaza.  Then to Northern Blvd., about 10 minutes. 

To Bronx Location:  This weekly Saturday party is held at Lorenz Latin Dance Studio, 1232 Castle Hill Avenue (betrween Newbold & Ellis Avenues), in the Parkchester / Unionport section of the Bronx, NY.  Studio phone 718-892-6105.  Click Here For Map of Bronx Location . .  Closest subway is the #6 train to Castle Hill Avenue & Westchester Avenue.  Then walk south on Castle Hill Avenue 1 1/2 blocks. 

To Manhattan Location:  This weekly Friday party is held at the Lorenz Latin Dance Studio, 2153 2nd Avenue & East 111th Street, in the East Harlem / "El Barrio" neighborhood of upper Manhattan, NY.  Studio phone 646-590-3642.  Click Here For Map of Manhattan Location. .  The closest train is the #6 train to 110th Street and Lexington Avenue, then walk east 2 blocks to 2nd Avenue, turn left and walk 1 block.
