MAD ABOUT MAMBO SALSA PARTY



DATE OF EVENT Usually held on the 2nd Saturday of each month.  See our Main Calendar for exact dates.
TIME 7:00 PM to midnight.  Please note early time for this event.

LOCATION

 St. Jean Le Baptiste Community Center, located at 184 East 76th Street (between Lexington & 3rd Avenues) in the upper east side of Manhattan, NYC.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE Held in a very big newly renovated church community center room with lots of space and seating.
MUSIC Almost entirely pure classic salsa plus a little cha cha.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Several groups perform at each event. They are listed on our Main Calendar.  Showtime is 10:00 PM.
DJ DJ Ray Colon or DJ Renee of U-Neek Sounds Entertainment.
BAND None.
DANCE FLOOR Large wooden floor which is "medium speed".
PRICES Reasonable admission price.
BEVERAGES AND FOOD Water and other beverages for sale.  Free snacks.
DRESS CODE Casual but neat.

Almost entirely "New York On 2" timing and style.

DESCRIPTION This event is put on by the Mambo Mamas, under the direction of long-time choreographer & performer Abbey Plotkin .  They bring us this social with plenty of salsa, lots of partners, and performances by several groups TBA (see our Calendar for names of groups and dates).  Abbey and The Mambo Mamas are back doing their events regularly.  Their events are always a lot of dancing fun.  They invite everyone to come celebrate their more than 10 years in our mambo community as performers and hosts of some of the best mambo socials in the city.
