DESCRIPTION This On 2 club mambo party is held every Wednesday at Bungalo Lounge in Astoria, Queens.  Dance lesson early in the evening.  This event is presented by fellow salsero, DJ and dancer DJ Mustachio - Jonathan.  He invites all the salseros to this mambo party in a very attractive club with plenty of salsa and cha cha dance music of different types, not just one narrow style.  DJ Mustachio - Jonathan also does Salsa En El West Village - Timbal Tuesdays @ Veranda Lounge on Tuesdays in lower Manhattan.  He is a very sociable and welcoming host and the crowd is friendly and eager to dance.

HOW TO GET THERE Held at Bungalo Lounge, 32-03 Broadway (between 31st and 32nd Streets) in Astoria, Queens, NYC.  Click Here For Map.  It is in a very nice neighborhood along Broadway, a popular section for restaurants, stores and entertainment.

Very convenient to get to by public transportation. Subways - Take the N train to the Broadway Station (on 31st Street), then walk 1 block along Broadway to the club.  If you don't mind walking a ways, take the M or R trains to the Steinway Street Station.  Then walk along Broadway for about 8+ blocks to the club.  By Car:  If you look around for a few minutes, you will find parking easily.

OTHER INFORMATION

This event has become a regular On 2 weekly hangout and. as usual, many of the "pure dancers" come in later between 10:00 and 11:00 PM.

Please Note:  Commercial clubs are established to please their customers & make a profit.  If they get enough complaints or suggestions, they will often make changes.  As mambo dancers, you should make every effort to let the management & DJ know what type of music you want to hear, what volume & lighting conditions you want, how the dance floor should be, etc.  If enough salsa lovers give their opinions to management & DJs, they will listen.

Also, since commercial clubs have high expenses and need to make a profit in order to stay open and continue playing lots of salsa, they will therefore cater to the customers who spend the most money.  Mambo dancers can help get what they want by spending more money at the bar, even if it's sodas, fruit juices, virgin cocktails, water, sports drinks.  You may think you're smart by not buying anything at a club, or sneaking in a bottle of water or liquor, but actually you are pushing them to play more merengue, bachata, Reggaeton & English music, because customers who prefer this music spend more money at the bar.  If you want commercial clubs to feature more salsa nights, you have to pay for it by purchasing beverages at the bar.  This is just simple economics.  www.SalsaNewYork.com is not affiliated with any events or clubs;  we are just being realistic.
